As USDT becomes more and more popular, you may be wondering how to transfer USDT to metamask. The whole process is not complicated, it only needs to be completed step by step under the Ethereum main network. This article will provide two different ways to transfer USDT to metamask. Transfer USDT to Metamask in Ethereum Mainnet
1. Copy the USDT Contract Address
Before the whole process, you should to is to copy its address firstly, for USDT is not automatically transferred. So you need to import it as a custom token.
First, go to CoinMarketCap.com and search for “USDT”.
Under “Contracts”, click the duplicate icon to copy the USDT address.
You can find USDT tokens on CoinMarketCap: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/tether/.
2. Log in to Your MetaMask Wallet
Now you can import it into MetaMask.
If you don’t have MetaMask, you need to install it on Chrome and create a new wallet.
It involves choosing a password and storing a recovery phrase.
If you already have a MetaMask wallet, you can enter your encryption or import it using your secret recovery phrase.
To log into your MetaMask wallet, click on the MetaMask extension, enter your encryption, and click “Unlock”.
3. Click “Import Tokens”
After unlocking your wallet, you need to import USDT.
First, you need to make sure that the “Ethereum Mainnet” network is selected. We do that for USDT is set on the Ethereum blockchain.
This network is selected by default. If not, click and select the Network drop-down box.
Then, scroll down and click “Get Tokens” to start importing USDT as a personalized token.
4. Paste the USDT Contact Address
After clicking “Import Token”, you will be taken to the “Search” tab, and you will be able to search for “USDT” and add it as a custom token. However, it is better to transfer it as a custom token.
First, click “Custom Tokens” to start adding custom tokens.
You will now see 3 fields – “Token Contract Address”, “Token Symbol” and “Token Decimal”.
All you have to do is paste the USDT address into the “Token Contract Address” field. After pasting the USDT address, the remaining fields will be automatically populated.
Finally, click “Add Custom Token” to transfer USDT to your MetaMask wallet.
5. Send or Receive USDT
With all steps before, You can see tokens under the “Assets” tab.
